Black River Dance Center for Performing Arts is
a new and exciting organization. Formed to educate all in cultural dance
and traditions of our African heritage. BRDC provides programs that
consists of Song, Dance, and Drama. Taught by professional master dancers
and drummers from various parts of Africa, Caribbean countries and the
USA, our primary goal focuses on Elementary through High School students.
Instilling in them at an early age the knowledge of traditional as well as
present day African dances and traditions will last them a lifetime. Our
programs not only educate students on African performing arts it
necessitates a certain amount of discipline. It also teaches children what
it means to have determination and effort. We hope our students will learn
to be proud of ones self and their accomplishments. African dance brings
out the self-respect and self-love that each individual possesses. We hope
to have an opportunity to share the knowledge, wisdom, and happiness of
our Africa heritage with all of you. Sincerely, Jessica Harrison Founder/
